Hospital work

Head of the Maternity and Children’s Unit at San Gerardo Hospital in Monza and head of the Neonatology and Infant Intensive Care Unit since 2000. The latter is where he started his career in 1978 as an assistant doctor. During this period, Dr. Tagliabue has dedicated a great deal of drive and energy to clinical work and research in the field of neonatal and infant illnesses as well as making radical changes to the architecture and the technology of the unit.

Educational work

Professor of Neonatology at the Università degli Studi in Milan and at Milan’s Bicocca University. Lecturer for the Neonatology Master’s degree at the Università degli Studi in Milan.

Institutional roles

Dr. Tagliabue has held many roles within various Scientific Organisations:

• President of the Lombardy branch of the Italian Society of Neonatology, since 2015.
• Member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Society of Neonatology, from 2009 to 2012.
• Member of the Committee for Clinical Risk for the Italian Societies of Neonatology and Paediatrics, from 2011 to 2013
